Position Overview

We are seeking an enthusiastic and creative Assistant Marketing Director to support our Marketing Director throughout our production season. This role is ideal for someone interested in learning the ins and outs of arts marketing and communications, with a strong eye for design and a passion for theater. The Assistant will act as a “shadow,” working closely with the current Marketing Director to maintain and build upon our brand identity and public presence.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with the daily management and scheduling of BlueJay Theater Collective’s social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, etc.)
  • Design eye-catching graphics and promotional materials for each show and seasonal marketing campaign
  • Help manage digital assets, branding guidelines, and visual content libraries
  • Collaborate with production teams to gather media (photos, videos, interviews) for promotional use
  • Track and analyze engagement data to optimize outreach and engagement
  • Support marketing initiatives including email newsletters, website updates, and event promotion
  • Attend marketing meetings and shadow the Marketing Director on planning and strategy discussions
  • Learn organizational voice and branding

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong interest in theater, performing arts, or nonprofit marketing
  • Basic proficiency in graphic design tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Suite, or similar)
  • Familiarity with major social media platforms and content planning tools
  • Excellent communication, time management, and organizational skills
  • Creative thinker with an eye for visual storytelling
  • Willingness to learn and take initiative in a collaborative environment
